Digital Banking Products
Six months on staff at a licensed, regulated bank, building the internal products it runs on. Under strict compliance and confidentiality controls, I delivered several systems that were central to the bank's day-to-day operations.
Digital Banking ProductsThe problem
Building software inside a licensed bank is not like building anywhere else. Everything ships under regulatory supervision, access to systems and data is tightly restricted, and anything that touches customer money leaves almost no margin for error. Inside those constraints, the bank still needed a steady stream of internal products delivered and one of its most critical systems modernised.
My role
I was an engineer on staff, assigned to some of the products the bank leaned on most. The work ranged from modernising a core banking application onto a more maintainable, industry-standard foundation, to building several internal dashboards that different teams use to run daily operations.
The architecture
Delivered under regulatory supervision
Every product shipped inside the bank's compliance, access-control and audit requirements. Working comfortably within those controls was as much a part of the job as the engineering itself.
Modernized a critical banking system
I helped move one of the bank's core applications off its original foundation onto a more maintainable, industry-standard base, without disrupting live operations.
Several internal products
I built a number of dashboards that different teams across the bank rely on to do their work and were central to its day-to-day operations.
